When the incoming line and return line currents are not equal, for example, the neutral line is disconnected, the secondary winding of the EHC-VCT series current transformer generates the power supply for the normal operation of the electric energy meter, which can meet the power supply needs of the three-terminal voltage stabilizer. The startup current is typically 0.5A, and as the primary current increases, the VCT needs to “saturate quickly” to prevent the secondary output voltage from rising linearly, causing damage to the back-end devices.
